12/13/2017 $125,500 Worth of Stolen Property Recovered in Bryant |

On Tuesday December 12, 2017, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division Captain Marty May was conducting follow up investigation on a case on County Road 489 in Bryant, Alabama when he observed several boats in a yard which fit the description of boats reported stolen from Tennessee. During a subsequent search of the property, a 2004 Ranger Boat and Trailer and 2012 Triton Boat and Trailer, both reported stolen from Hamilton County, TN, were recovered along with a 2016 Honda Rancher 4x4 ATV which was reported stolen from DeKalb County, AL. The identification numbers of these stolen vehicles had also been altered/obscured. The stolen value of these item were reported as approximately $125,500. A third boat located on the property, which was registered to TAYLOR, had an altered/obscured identification number but was not identified as stolen. Additional property including fishing rods and reels, tackle boxes, assorted fishing tackle and propellers were located and impounded for further investigation. Aaron Ray TAYLOR age 41 of Bryant, AL. was arrested and charged with 3 counts of Receiving Stolen Property 1st degree and 4 counts of Obscuring a Vehicle Identification Number. TAYLOR remains in the Jackson County Jail on $25,000 bond. This investigation is continuing. |
