05/18/2015 Two Arrested after Heroin and Marijuana seizure in Bridgeport |

On Saturday May 16, 2015, while conducting a Drivers License Checkpoint in Bridgeport, AL., members of the Jackson County Sheriffs Office Narcotics Unit and Bridgeport Police Department seized approximately 24.5 grams of Heroin, Marijuana which was packaged for resale and over $2,000 United States Currency. Arrested in connection with this seizure was Ron Eugene COOK, age 28 ofSouth Pittsburg, TN. and Marcus STARKEY, age 26 of Jasper, TN. COOK was charged with Trafficking Heroin and STARKEY was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st degree (packaged for resale) both subjects were transported to the Jackson County Jail without incident. Bond has not yet been set.
As a side note, 4 grams of Heroin is considered Trafficking in the State of Alabama. |
