OPERATION SAFE SUMMER 2015

Following months of planning and preparation, The Jackson County Sheriff's Office “Operation Safe Summer 2015 “has come to an end. This operation was initiated to verify that the all of the county’s registered sex offenders are compliant with local and state sex offender laws. This operation resulted in the verification of compliance for a total of 113 registered sex offenders in Jackson County.

The three day verification operation was conducted on July 7^th thru July 9^th, by law enforcement officers from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Scottsboro Police Department, Alabama Board of Pardons and Parole, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, and the U. S. Marshals Service.

Based on this operation, arrest warrants were obtained on two offenders for Sex Offender Registration Notification Act (S.O.R.N.A.) violations (Vacating their residence without notifying the Sheriff’s Office).

Terry FINLEY age 47 of Bridgeport was arrested on July 9^th for a S.O.R.N.A. violation (Vacating Residence). FINLEY is currently in the Jackson County Jail and no bond has been set.

An arrest warrant has also been issued for Claude WASHINGTON age 43 of Hollywood, AL. For a S.O.R.N.A. Violation (Vacating Residence). Anyone with knowledge of WASHINGTON'S whereabouts should contact the Jackson County Sheriff's Office at 256-574-2610.
