02/04/2016 Multi-Agency Investigation leads to Arrest and Marijuana Seizure |

On Wednesday February 3, 2016, a joint investigation conducted by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), U.S. Postal Inspectors, Jackson County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit, Morgan County Sheriff’s Office and Scottsboro Police Department, resulted in the arrest of one person and the seizure of approximately two (2) pounds of high grade marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia, US Currency, Controlled Pharmaceuticals and a vehicle. This Investigation involved the Interstate Distribution of Marijuana, which was being delivered to Alabama via U.S. Mail. Arrested in connection with this investigation was Joseph Alex ARMSTRONG age 32 of McIntosh, N.M. who was charged with Possession of Marijuana 1st degree, Possession of Controlled Substances-Diazepam and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. This arrest took place during a traffic stop in the Woodville, AL. area. ARMSTRONG was transported to the Jackson County Jail and at the time of this PRESS/NEWS RELEASE bond has not yet been set. |
