In the early morning hours of Saturday April 29, 2017, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in front of a residence in the 400 block of Old Grant Road in Woodville, AL. Lt. Tim Creel responded and observed Chadwick Wilson driving a White flat bed pickup truck in the area of Old Grant Road. Wilson had outstanding warrants for burglary and theft from a previous incident. Upon seeing the Patrol Vehicle, Wilson fled the area, pursued by Lt. Creel. During this chase, a large object was thrown out of the truck, which was later recovered and found to be a Police Light bar. The pursuit ended on County Road 8, near Wilson's residence, where Wilson fled on foot and escaped. The vehicle was impounded and Deputies located a Dewalt Impact Drill inside the vehicle. After the chase, it was determined that the light bar had been stolen from a Woodville Police Car which was parked in front of the Woodville City Hall. The next morning, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office responded back to the 400 block of Old Grant Road and took a report for a burglary of a Utility Trailer, from which several tools were stolen, including a similar Dewalt Impact Drill. On Monday May 1, 2017, Wilson surrendered himself to the Jackson County Jail. Wilson was charged with the outstanding arrest warrants and additional charges are pending. |
