On Wednesday August 23, 2017, members of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office's Investigations Division arrested Kenneth Joe BISHOP III at his residence on Youngstown Road in Flat Rock, AL. BISHOP had several outstanding arrest warrants stemming from an investigation into a series of Thefts in the North Sand Mountain area of Jackson County. Deputies had been attempting to locate and arrest BISHOP for several weeks and finally located him hiding behind a dishwasher at the residence. BISHOP was charged with the outstanding arrest warrants, which included charges of:
Receiving Stolen Property 1st degree,
Receiving Stolen Property 3rd degree,
Receiving Stolen Property 4th degree,
Attempting to Elude.
As part of this investigation, on the same date, Investigators and Patrol Division Deputies located and recovered a 1999 Honda Four Trax 300 ATV which was hidden a wooded area off of County Road 95 in Higdon, AL. This ATV was reported stolen on August 19, 2017 from a residence on County Road 326 in Higdon and was valued at $4,500.00. This investigation has connected BISHOP to the possession of this stolen ATV and on Thursday August 24, 2017 two additional charges of Receiving Stolen Property 1st degree and Criminal Mischief 2nd degree were added to BISHOP.
BISHOP remains in the Jackson County Jail and a total Bond has not yet been set.
