On Wednesday October 25, 2017, a Drug Investigation was conducted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Madison-Morgan County S.T.A.C Team, Huntsville Police Department, Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit and the ALEA Regional Drug Task Force. This Investigation began with a traffic stop conducted by Huntsville Police Department K-9 Unit, in Madison County, where approximately 5 pounds of high grade Marijuana were located and seized. This seizure led investigators to a residence on County Road 43 in Section, AL. A search warrant was obtained and executed at the residence during which approximately 1 pound of high grade marijuana, approximately 90 grams of highly concentrated THC oil also known as “DAB”, an electronic currency counter, a commercial vacuum sealer, drug paraphernalia, firearms and US currency were located. Madison/Morgan County STAC Team arrested Andrew James Gifford age 24 of Section, AL. and charged him with Trafficking in Marijuana. Additional arrests are pending in Jackson County.
